Description
This must be to most time consuming piece I ever bothered to paint. It must have undergone hundreds of concept changes, every little detail, part of the body repainted twice if not more… I was tired of seeing it at the end. This is the last time I ever start to paint before having a STRONG concept already in my mind. This is GOD. Yep, although I don’t believe in God, I painted my version of him. He is currently concentrating hard, creating earth, starting up the huge task by building the sky. the reason why he has no legs is because he's vanishing, moving from one place to another, with the help of the magical feathers that are gradually covering up his body.
Don’t ask me why he has a bellybutton if he’s God!
This was painted from scratch in PhotoshopCS, with a Wacom tablet, several references used, me among others. I was the main reference for the pose and anatomy. (I’m not that muscled though).
I’m too tired tonight to post the ref, if you really want to see it, just ask and I’ll post it.
Comments and critique are welcome.

I like the concept and how God has such remarkable hair.
It's kind of weird how is body just disappears in the end though.
Otherwise, I love it.

The character and background are nicely rendered, though.
The lighting also seems to be fairly accurate, too.

slapo: lol, you're right about my previous painting. I wanted a simple background so as to not distract the eye off the main character.
anDy: Yo andydude! Thanks!

However, 9/9 for your great improvement. I wish I could paint as well as you do.

- His left nipple is really low! (I don't have a fetish, I promise!)

- The chains on his arm look to be a totally different color than the ones on his chest (and I'm not sure if the lighting would affect it that much) and they look a little undone-ish.
The rest is GORGEOUS! The light sources are great: the orb, fire, and...the big bang?08/15/07 @348

The one main critique I would have is that is right arm, at first glimpse, looks like a stump that that is burning at the end of it. The perspective isn't necessarily wrong...its just that maybe the piece would be better if you placed the right arm in such a way where you weren't forced to put it in such an awkward perspective.
Only after close inspection did I notice that there was a hand and fingers there.
Other than that, excellent piece

Vorphalack, yeah, I've been told that before. you're right, of course
thanks!

this is a bit like i used to imagine god when i was very little..
i dont believe in god either, and i think its a very cool idea to paint him like this.
the feathers are my favorite part, they're amazing.
the hair and the lighting are awesome too.
what i dont really like is his right arm, it looks too short for me.
man jordan this IS one amazing painting.
